I am an RN, a Mom and a Grandmother. My daughter is now a Mom. I was happy to be there for my daughter through her pregnancy, labor and daughter’s birth as well as support her through the “growing pains” every new mother experiences. I must admit that I was fortunate to be a Nurse when my children were born as my anxiety level was lower than that of many of my friends, but sleep deprivation and having a baby of your own to care for 24/7 certainly makes the situation very real! I was glad to have friends and family! There was no Internet then!
My daughter encountered and successfully resolved many unexpected events prior to and after the birth of her baby, with support. My daughter and many of my daughters’ friends were unprepared for issues they faced and some may be issues that you yourself are experiencing now, while you are pregnant or with your baby or little tyke. Through interaction with others and each other, they were able to learn coping mechanisms. Our hope is that this site will help you and help others as well through your participation; moms and dads who are struggling with the same issues. In some cases we may advise you see a Doctor or contact a Community Resource, but in many cases, successful experiences, communication and knowledge are powerful tools. Moms and Dads will have the opportunity to talk to each other and realize that their experiences in raising little tykes are similar and better yet, fixable!
My daughter and I invite an interactive approach from anyone who wishes to receive or provide support, share information or experiences and concerns, and engage in a friendly, communicative, informative site to liaison with other moms, through articles, letters and queries published on Little Tyke Talk. We welcome questions, problems and suggestions from all parents and parents to be, grandparents included! Remember: “No question is a stupid question if you don’t know the answer”. Our goal is to help you to prepare for the birth of your baby, help you to adjust to a newborn and help you to communicate problems associated with your new family member, as each and every child is different and unique, even within the same families. As your child grows, it is healthy to communicate to get through the tough times! An informed parent is a well prepared parent!
Sincerely,
RN Mom and Mom
