BIO - Nurse Sue, RN:
I am an RN, a Mom and a ‘new’ Grandmother. I was happy to be there for my daughter through her pregnancy, labor and her daughter’s birth and I have supported numerous other moms having worked many years in a hospital setting. I have assited serveral mothers through “growing pains” and trust me, every new mother experiences these. I must admit, I was fortunate enough to have nursing experience when my children were born as my anxiety level was slightly lower than that of my friends. Having said this, sleep deprivation and caring for a child 24/7 certainly makes the situation very real! I was glad to have had friends and family close to home! There was no Internet in my day!

My daughter encountered many unexpected issues prior to and after the birth of her baby. The successful resolution of these obstacles were solved with the support of experienced mothers. Like you, my daughter and many of her friends were unprepared for the issues encountered and they didn’t have the community support we had in my day. You may experience similar problems yourself and require quick resolution. Little Tyke Talk is an excellent tool to help you find the information you need and receive unbias resolution to your common questions. Through interaction you will learn coping mechanisms and increase your knowledge. The goal of this website is to help you and help others work through the early years of child care, and of course, participate in fun discussions. Moms and dads are both invited to ask me questions, probe my experience, or poke fun at my teaching experience in University Sex Education. And I’m not Sue Johanson! LOL.

In some cases I may advise you to see a Doctor or contact a Community Resource. But, in my experience, many issues are quite common and can be solved through proactive discussion, experience sharing, and friendly communication.

I look forwarding to hearing from you.

Warm regards,
Nurse Sue, RN.
